What is the best time of day for photos?
Lighting plays a huge role in how your photos turn out, and I'll always guide you to the best option for your session.
For Family & Maternity sessions, the magic happens in the hour before sunset (golden hour). I know this can fall right into dinner, bath or bedtime - but I promise, it is SO worth it for that dreamy, glowy golden light.
I always aim to keep things fun and relaxed. A late bedtime, skipped nap or even a little sugary bribe is always welcome over here.
As a mom myself, I get it. Kids are unpredictable, routines get thrown off, and sometimes it feels a little chaotic, but honestly? I adore it. Thats where the real emotion and moments live
For in-home newborn Sessions, mid morning to early afternoons is ideal when your home is filled with that beautiful natural light, and, no worries if its a cloudy day- living in the Okanagan IYKYN, I always bring my flash with me just in case!
When should I book my newborn photos?
These baby led sessions can often take up to 2.5 hours to allow time for feeding, changing and settling.
The ideal time for newborn photos is within the first 5-14 days after birth, when your little one is extra sleepy and curled up. But, I'm always happy to document your story whenever it feels right for you.
What should we wear?
I get this question all the time, and, don't worry, I've got you covered - I have a whole Prep & Style Guide that I'll send over
the process:
1. Book the date.
First, inquire about booking a session with me. I'll be in touch within 48 hours to secure your date.
-I require a small deposit and a contract (signed electronically) to officially get you on the books!
2. Location & Style Help.
Location, styling and photography go hand in hand. Ive created two guides to help you choose your outfits and location! I will be with you every step of the way, you can reach me via text, email or phone call to chat about any questions you have!
3. Take & Deliver Photos.
A session with me will always be an adventure. My goal as your photographer is for everyone to have fun and laugh, allowing me to capture those genuine moments.
Sneak Peeks will be delivered within 48 hours of your session. Your full gallery will be delivered within 6 weeks from your session date via an online gallery in full resolution JPEG form.
