Welcome!

& CONGRATULATIONS

I cannot wait to photograph you and your little one!

Here's a quick guide that goes over some frequently asked questions.

What to Expect

In home Newborn Sessions are all about capturing you and your new little one in a relaxed, natural way. These sessions focus on genuine connection, quiet moments and the tiny details that make this season of your life so special.

These sessions typically take a bit longer than a normal session. You can expect the sessions to be 1.5 hours to 2 hours. This allows plenty of time for things to unfold naturally without any pressure. During this time we can pause as needed for feeding, diaper changes, soothing or simply giving baby a minute to settle. Older siblings may also need a little play or snack break. These breaks are completely normal and expected and can create some of the most genuine photos of you and your family.

Real life is welcome here, all we need is an area or two with natural light. Common spots include the nursery, primary bedroom, a cozy couch or chair, and areas near large windows. Your home is part of your story and including it helps create images that feel personal and meaningful.

If possible, try to keep baby awake for a little while before your session so they're nice and sleepy for your session. A diaper change, a bit of stimulation, or a short wake window can help with this, Many families also find it helpful to feed baby right as the session begins, which often helps them to settle into a deep sleep. Of course, we'll take breaks whenever needed 💛

When should I Book our Newborn Session?

Newborn sessions are typically photographed within the first 5-14 days after birth when babies are extra sleepy, naturally still curled up and easier to settle into those cozy snuggly moments. But, book whenever feels most comfy for you and your family. Beautiful, meaningful images can be captured at any stage 🫶

If you're booking an in-home newborn session, I typically suggest late morning to early afternoon (around 9:30-1:00pm). This allows us to make the most of that soft natural window light that gives your images that dreamy feel you see throughout my work.

What to wear?

Simple is always best for newborn photos.

Think neutral tones, soft textures, and minimal patterns photography beautifully and help keep the focus on your family. The goal is to feel comfortable and feel like yourselves 🫶
